Gemma George, Lead Sustainability ConsultantGemma George

Gemma leads the CCCA and has over twelve years experience in the environment, waste and sustainability sector in the UK and overseas. An experienced environmental and qualified energy assessor, Gemma works with a variety of clients advising and delivering projects on management systems and strategies, legal compliance, carbon reporting and engagement.

Gemma holds a BSc in Environmental Science and specialised further in postgraduate environmental management. She is experienced in programme and project management PRINCE2. Previously Gemma was a member of professional committees including the UK Environmental Law Association and led the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Wales steering group as Chair for over 3 years.

Carlos Queremel, Sustainability Behavioural Change Expert

Carlos' pic

Carlos has over 20 years’ experience engaging with communities and businesses in the delivery of environmental projects, including subjects such as climate change, carbon project development and CSR initiatives. He is highly skilled in producing engaging communications materials and campaigns to promote behavioural change and is an expert in designing and managing projects in the field of sustainable development.

Carlos has developed sound experience in building partnerships and communicating with and advising senior stakeholders in the private and public sectors in different cultural contexts.  Carlos is a creative and experienced facilitator with expertise in promoting behavioural change.

Tom Parkes, Data Analyst and Sustainability Advisor

Tom brings three years of experience in carbon management and reporting, energy performance analysis, and sustainable transport initiatives. Whilst working at the University of Brighton, Tom’s involvement in solar PV installations, lighting refurbishments and HVAC plant replacements helped the University to a top-ten ranking for sustainability in the higher education sector.

Prior to joining the University of Brighton, Tom worked at Wandsworth Council on an EU-funded project to provide environmentally-focussed advice to SMEs in London.

Tom studied Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia and has a background in data analysis and atmospheric chemistry.

Peris Njoroge, Sustainability Trainee

Peris is a graduate trainee supporting the CCCA team. She is currently working with one of our local members in their Green Team gaining practical experience in implementing sustainability initiatives within business. This includes updating their ISO 14001 Environmental Management System to meet compliance requirements.

Peris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science & Public Administration from The University of Nairobi, Kenya, and a Master of Arts in Energy and Environmental Change from the University of Westminster, UK. 

At the CCCA Peris is focussing on energy and waste management, advising clients on management systems and carbon reporting.
