Between 21-25 September CCCA members took part in World Green Building Week, a celebration of the role buildings play in our sustainable future.
Coordinated by Green Building Councils across the world, the theme this year was Powering Positive Change. Events were hosted to demonstrate the positive impact that buildings can have on occupants, business, the environment and communities.
CCCA members took part in this global event by organising tours and talks across their developments. Highlights included:
- A Staff Engagement and Behaviour Change Seminar hosted by Troup Bywaters and Anders and led by Karen Landles, Behavioural Insights Director at Exterion Media and CCCA Advisory Board Member. The seminar explored behaviour change theory as well as practical examples of how you can get your staff and stakeholders engaged in your sustainability programmes to make them more effective.
- A tour through the London Borough of Camden’s offices at 5 Pancras Square, one of the greenest buildings in the UK. The tour took attendees through the range of passive and active design elements which led it to achieve BREEAM Outstanding certification.
- A tour of Carillion’s construction site, including the iconic Gasholder Triplets Site, the restored Gasholder 8 which has been transformed into a public park, Kings Cross Pond, and Carillion’s Training Centre
