CCCA members have once again shown their commitment to reducing their carbon emissions. In 2019, 89% of Alliance members who reported their energy data, reduced their carbon emissions by an average of 20%. This has contributed towards a 45% borough-wide reduction in carbon emissions since 2008.
Rajnika Hirani, CCCA board member and Head of Sustainability and Business at The Francis Crick Institute said: “In light of the climate crisis there is an ever-increasing recognition by businesses that operating sustainably must be a business as usual activity. As was seen at the recent Sustainability Awards, many are doing this already in Camden and indeed many are going further than ever before in considering their wide-ranging impact not only on the environment but also on the local community.
Looking ahead this link between the global, local, business and community will be made stronger as we seek for all organisations in the borough to contribute to the effort in addressing the climate emergency.”
