Camden Council have launched the Camden Climate Investment which directly funds local climate projects. Investments can be made from £5 to help Camden Council reach their £1 million goal to help create a more sustainable future for Camden.
The projects, which have been selected based on the Camden Climate Action Plan, include:
- Installing 80 further electric vehicle charging points to encourage residents to switch to electric vehicles.
- Continuing the rollout of the Council’s Healthy School Streets initiative, which aims to improve air quality and improve the local environment around schools.
- Contributing to replacing Camden Council’s fleet of diesel and petrol vehicles with green alternatives.
- Installing solar panels on public buildings to reduce carbon emissions and the cost of electricity.
This investment pays 1.75% interest per year fixed, before tax, every 6 months and repays your original investment after 5 years. If you invest you will receive interest from the council every six months, and get your original investment back after five years.
