Camden Council and the Camden Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) are hosting a celebration event on Wednesday 3rd November at SamsungKX, Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross to mark the 26th United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP26).
COP26 will take place in Glasgow from 31 October – 12 November 2021 and will bring together world leaders to reach an agreement on how to tackle climate change. This year the conference is centred around 4 key goals: adaption, mitigation, finance and collaboration.
Join Camden in celebrating carbon reduction best practice from within the borough and across London against the backdrop of the 4 key COP goals. The event will bring together organisations, third sector and community to share knowledge, network, find new ways to collaborate and inspire the next wave of climate action initiatives.
As part of our celebration event we will be digitally showcasing projects from across Camden and London that demonstrate how organisations and communities have come together to help tackle the climate crisis and also deliver benefits for the wider community.
To mark our celebration event we will be joined by Cllr Georgia Gould, Leader of Camden Council and Cllr Adam Harrison, Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden. We will also be joined by a panel of fantastic guest speakers to speak more broadly on the 4 key COP goals. We are delighted to have the following speakers confirmed:
- Benaifer Bhandari – CEO of Hopscotch, Chair of Voluntary Action Camden
- Aliza Ayaz – UN Goodwill Ambassador & International Climate Activist
- Paul King – Managing Director Sustainability and Social Impact, Lendlease
The event will be taking place as a hybrid event – attendees will have the option to attend in person at Samsung or view the event online.
