Help provide Virtual Work Experience for local students

News – Tuesday, May 12th, 2020

Camden STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and maths) are are calling for Camden employers to be part of a pioneering Virtual Work Experience Programme (VWEX). The Camden STEAM Commission brings together organisations to help develop young people’s skills and opportunities in these sectors, and the VWEX programme will help provide local students with their first experiences of work this June/July.

Work experience can make a considerable difference to young people’s outcomes, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, which is why Camden STEAM have partnered with Speakers for Schools to deliver this programme. Speakers for Schools are a national educational charity backed by employers including the Bank of England, BP, Marie Curie and Spotify. Nationally, Morgan Sindall and BP are in the process of delivering VWEX, and Camden STEAM Pledge employer, Google, will also be offering placements for Camden young people.
