For Schools

Our experienced team provide tailored sustainability consultancy services, helping you to reduce your overheads, reduce your emissions and your wider environmental impact, and increase your organisation’s efficiency in a competitive environment. Our consultancy services are available for members and non-members.

Waste management
The way we deal with waste in London needs to change. Schools have an important role to play in raising awareness about the waste issue both by running effective waste management programmes and educating with a focus on the 5Rs: Refuse - Reduce - Reuse - Repair - Recycle. We can help your school to better understand how to manage waste and assist you in the design of waste awareness raising programmes.

Energy management
Through simple changes in behaviour schools can easily achieve a 10% reduction in energy usage. This could translate to an average saving of approximately £3,000 on annual energy bills. Auditing and monitoring energy usage is a key step towards effective energy management. The CCCA can help you design and plan these tasks. We can undertake an audit and provide a Display Energy Certificate which every school should display on their premises.

School travel plans
Travel plans are a fundamental part of the solution to local air quality as it helps to address local traffic issues. Schools have an important role to play in encouraging all members of the school community to use more sustainable means of transport. We encourage schools to develop their school travel plans using the TfL STARS online accreditation

Linking schools with businesses
We support schools in the identification of opportunities to gain knowledge and expertise around sustainability by linking businesses with schools interested in sustainability. These collaborations provide strong Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities for businesses and benefits to schools alike.

Local recognition scheme
In partnership with Camden learning, we will be offering Camden schools a local recognition scheme to acknowledge schools’ sustainability efforts. Results will be published in the form of a local sustainability league table. The scheme will be built up as part of the Camden Healthy Schools Programme, so it will not require any extra efforts from the schools to take part.

School online sustainability peer support network
This peer support network is an initiative run in collaboration with Camden Think and Do with the aim of encouraging and supporting teachers in the borough who are going the extra mile to put environmental action at the heart of their student's education. The sessions are held every other week on a Thursday at 4 pm during the school term. You can join for the whole (1.15 hours) or just pop-in share any news or asks questions.
