Trading Opportunity with Camden Markets

News – Friday, May 14th, 2021

Camden Markets are looking for new and aspiring traders to join their markets. Camden is home to some of the UK’s most famous markets such as Camden Lock Market and Covent Garden Market.

With low start-up costs and fairly inexpensive running costs, street trading offers a great way to start, grow or geographically expand your business presence.

Camden’s markets are exciting and vibrant places to shop, eat and drink and, with lockdown restrictions easing over the coming months, domestic tourism into London is expected to steadily increase London’s footfall – including Camden.

Unlike private markets, the council licenses traders under the London Local Authorities Act (1990) which affords street traders with certain legal protections. In Camden, traders can apply for pitches across eight established street markets, fifty miscellaneous sites and numerous forecourts, pop-up markets and events.

At present, Camden Markets are particularly keen to hear from potential traders who want to pitch in Leather Lane Market, Queens Crescent Market and Chalton Street Market, however the Camden Markets team welcomes applications for all possible sites.

If you are interested in trading, or have any questions on wanting to become a trader at any of Camden’s markets, please contact the Camden Markets Team at or phone them on 020 7974 3864. Alternatively, you can join the Camden Markets Team’s Facebook Page where you will see daily updates on Camden’s markets, the available commodities and new upcoming traders licenced with Camden.
